  • Overview

    The BI responsibilities of this role include development and maintenance of Power BI reports and assisting to define and execute an overall Data, BI, and Reporting strategy. The database responsibilities of this role include monitoring existing databases, diagnosing & resolving issues, verifying backups and overall assistance in managing databases required to support business applications. While the primary focuses of the role are noted above, this position will likely assist the organization in many ways including involvement in building environments, support, maintenance, development, and upgrades of enterprise level systems including a wide variety of applications. This position works closely with business stakeholders, business analysts, developers, the infrastructure team, and external vendors / consultants to collaborate on delivery and support of business solutions.

      • Creation and Development of new Power BI reports and data structures
      • Support and Maintenance of existing Power BI reports and data structures
      • Assisting the organization in creation of Data, BI, and Reporting strategy
    • Database
      • Management of Alerts/Errors
      • Support the backup and recovery operations for databases at all facilities
      • Work with external consultants to install, upgrade and support Databases
        • Support of Microsoft SQL Server applications
        • Support of Oracle applications
    • Team / Project Responsibilities
      • Coordinate required activities across internal teams and external consultants for project changes, upgrades, etc.
      • Participate in definition of database design, access, interface and reporting standards
      • Provide expertise to team members in technology design and purchasing decisions
      • Provide end-user support
      • Develop and administer business continuity plan for supported platforms
      • Document all procedures and processes



    • 3-5 years' of experience working within a BI and Database role
    • BS degree in Computer Science or related field preferred
    • Power BI experience is ideal, but other BI platform experience is welcomed
    • Working knowledge of software development tools and procedures
    • SQL Server experience required and Oracle knowledge is beneficial
    • Working knowledge of database management tools and procedures 
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    • A team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively communicate to individuals at all levels of the organization
    • The ability to manage multiple priorities
    • Strong focus on continuous process improvement
