Supervises, directs and coordinates mechanical maintenance activities for assigned area. Directs hourly maintenance crews and contractors. Recommends improvements in methods, equipment, operating procedures, and working conditions.
Provides leadership through proper planning and in accordance with good maintenance practices.
Ensures compliance with all State and Federal Laws and Regulations while promoting safety and adhering to all M.S.H.A. requirements.
Ensures effective employee and union relations.
Manages departmental performance measures (KPI’s) and provides regular progress reports to management.
Responsible for call - out coverage on off shifts including weekends and holidays.
Associate or Bachelor’s degree with emphasis in mechanical engineering or commensurate practical experience in mechanical maintenance plus previous supervisory experience.
An ability to think ahead and plan over a specific time span.
Supervision and maintenance skills, including developing, mentoring, and disciplining hourly employees.
