Overview

A multi-year rotational development position in the Sales and Marketing Department designed to attract and grow future commercial leaders. This position will be focused on gaining hands-on experience across all commercial functions including, sales, marketing, business management, customer service, and logistics with the intent to develop a strong commercial skill set, robust product and market knowledge, and overall business acumen. The Sales & Marketing Analyst will be expected to support leaders in each function, coordinate various daily commercial activities, take on specific projects, and serve as an effective liaison between the commercial departments. The position will operate in a high-volume environment with a moderate amount of ambiguity. Product, market and process training as well as ongoing mentorship will be provided, however the position is expected to be a self-starter, with an intrinsic intellectual curiosity and desire to drive results. Individual will be expected to maintain a strong internal and external customer service focus.

Responsibilities

  • Develops knowledge and understanding of all calcium products, end-use markets and applications, and internal department process and systems used to support ongoing commercial activities
  • Hands-on rotations within each commercial area (sales, marketing/business management, customer service, logistics); handle day-to-day functional responsibilities and longer-term projects with the intent to achieve business results and drive performance improvement
  • Develops strong internal relationships with department leaders, sales managers, business managers, customer service representatives and logistics team members
  • Supports sales managers and business managers on customer visits and calls; travels to customer sites.
  • Works with sales and marketing managers to support new and existing sales activities including customer contacts, call reports, pricing analysis, freight analysis, and customer service coordination
  • Learns key department processes and performs the function including order processing, freight quotes, competitive pricing analysis, sales calls, call reports, customer service opportunity resolutions, supply chain planning.
  • Investigates and resolves customer complaints on a timely basis, and within stated policies and procedures.
  • Prepares documents such as price quotes, competitive analyses, and service obligations for review by commercial leaders.
  • Capability to take a lead project role as directed.
  • Gain strong market and applications understanding by studying markets and customer needs.
  • Submits routine reports, such as customer reports, and monthly reports.
  • Attends relevant tradeshows in support of sales and marketing initiatives.
  • Performs other such responsibilities as might be assigned.
  • Up to 30% travel.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, Finance, Accounting, or Marketing
  • 2-4 years of work experience preferred
  • Long term focus with aspiration for expanded commercial role
  • Problem solver with strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Self-starter, results-oriented, and well organized to handle a significant amount of information Strong interpersonal skills with an interest in active involvement in customer-facing situations.
  • Must present professionally, and be a good listener with strong verbal and written communications skills.
  • Effectively collaborates and able to work in teams; builds internal and external relationships
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel/Word/PowerPoint/Outlook) and ability to effectively use CRM software
